Royal Naval Commander Michael "Skip" Wallrock was a much-beloved war hero awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French for his role in the D-Day landings. Upon Skip's passing, his Grandson, Will, discovered Skip’s wartime diary and, amongst other details, discovered his Grandfather’s gin recipe; Skip would smuggle his hand-crafted gin on board to boost the morale of his war-ravaged crew. In Skip's honor, Will recreated his Grandfather's gin and aptly named it Hawthorn’s after the warship Skip commanded. Hawthorn's base is distilled in single batches on-site in a copper pot from 100% English Wheat. Then, as prescribed in Skip's diary, we steep our ten globally curated botanicals for more than 24 hours to extract all essential oils that sit just beneath the skins, peels, barks, and berries. The result is a citrusy London Dry Gin that is beautifully crafted and perfectly balanced. A gin so smooth you can drink it on the rocks (just like Skip did). In 2024, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition awarded Hawthorn's with the prestigious Platinum Medal for Taste.
