Jefferson’s Ocean Aged At Sea Straight Bourbon Whiskey

In 2008, Jefferson’s Bourbon founder and master blender Trey partnered with OCEARCH founder, Chris Fischer, to find out what happens to Bourbon at Sea. They placed five barrels on the MV OCEARCH and let them travel the globe for three years. The gentle rocking of the ocean results in constant movement of the liquid in the barrel while the introduction to extreme temperature fluctuations and salt air provide a flavor profile like no other. The result is a hyper aged, thick, dark high rye bourbon that showcases complex flavors reminiscent of a sweet caramelized dark rum and a savory, briny Islay Island Scotch.
