A rare and superlative single barrel whiskey, Kings County Distillery's 7-Year Straight Bourbon is one of the oldest age-statement bourbons pot-distilled bourbons and some of the oldest true-craft whiskey ever made. This barrel — #1198 — was aged entirely in the greenhouse-like upstairs barrel room of the Paymaster building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, leading again to a more traditional and barrel-forward bourbon profile. The nose on this 107-proof bottling primarily presents the expected oak character, along with peanut brittle and burnt citrus peel. The palate leads with oak spice, while light fruit and toasted oak also feature heavily through the finish.
There is precious little of this award-winning juice, (our last 7-Year Single Barrel won the Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2021) we only have 65 bottles available to purchase.
