King County's newest release of Bottled-in-Bond is precisely that confluence of rarity and excellence. Now with a 6-year age statement, and pulled from a much smaller inventory of stock, this is increasingly a celebration whiskey—to be enjoyed at the very best moments of life.
Distilled in the spring of 2015, our 10th batch of Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon is the first in our history to be composed entirely of whiskey aged in large-format 30- and 53-gallon barrels, and, fittingly also our first Bottled-in-Bond to be age-stated six years. In constructing this blend of 11 barrels, stock was pulled from both the rickhouse-like climate of our Navy Yard aging room as well as the more temperate environment of an additional Brooklyn warehouse.
The resulting profile evokes the hallmarks of well-aged southern bourbon but retains the traits distinctive to New York farmed corn, a 2-grain mashbill, and pot still distillation with a narrow heart-cut. A nose of mature oak, lanolin, and vanilla cream lead to a palate of soft caramel chew, toasted cinnamon bark, and rum-soaked raisin—a balanced profile showcasing the most refined small blend of superlative barrels from our warehouse right now. But don’t take our word for it, this whiskey was named BEST IN CLASS, DOUBLE GOLD from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition in 2020.
